Fortune favours the brave and good.
It favours the Happy Warrior.
Happy Days are here again.
The world rocks to WE LOVE MALAYSIA.

Long ago he locked horns
with estranged Singapore, with Great Britain too,
and cast his eyes further East
at the Land of the Rising Yen

navigating his beloved Malaysia to peace and prosperity,
inspiring young and old to greatness.

Game-changer Tweedledum and his other half Tweedledee
squandered the legacy they inherited.
‘I want more, sir,’ they chanted, day and night.

They ran deep, they ran silent,
they raided like the SAS
the sea around Bali for Nazi gold.

II

Cometh the hour, cometh the Doctor,
to heal the malaise of the nation,
to slay the audacious crocodile, Greed.

The Warrior’s winter years became
his spring of discontent.

Strengthened by the love of his wife and people,
with one fell swoop of his sword
this Gladiator of Justice slew
the double-bellied crocodile, Greed.

The Happy Warrior charged
the heavy brigade of avaricious cronies.
There boast of victory
fizzled out like ill-fated Saddam.

The darling buds of hibiscus danced merrily
all day long in the Golden Chersonese.

III

Hello happiness, bye bye blues.
Joy, oh joy, we salute you,
our Happy Warrior.

We promise we will strive, seek and share
our commonwealth and happiness.

God willing we shall walk hand in hand
into the 2020 Vision,
our Diamond Days.

No social or racial superiors
no divided loyalties
no dual citizenship

but giving a helping hand
to those in need

lest the darling buds of May
wither and fall.

Remember too,
you cannot run with the hare
and hunt with the hounds.

All’s well that ends well.
A golden Hope is blowing in the wind.
Today’s Hope is tomorrow’s shangri-la of
peace, prosperity and plenty.
