Father, Mother and Daughter Sofya

Image
When all alone at life's sunset, I shall remember, remember again and again, all the joyous halcyon days of yesterday's summer smiles, sunshine and esprit de corps Oozing from the lovely bright boffins attending the English seminar at Malaysia Hall, in particular pretty Ashiela and tall handsome Haniff with angelic Sofya, the youngest attendee of only three moons. Sofya, Ayn's darling, was born a stone's throw away from Kensington Gardens, Where Peter Pan sailed through the trees gleefully. Sofya has not one but two charming doctors in attendance, doting on her day and night, truly one of Malaysia's loveliest couples. Bless you all, mum, dad, baby and learners all. May good fortune attend your every call. Dato’ Yunus Raiss JP FRSA FCIL MEd BA BSc (Econ) Barrister 24.01.2019

The Happy Warrior

Image
I Fortune favours the brave and good. It favours the Happy Warrior. Happy Days are here again. The world rocks to WE LOVE MALAYSIA. Long ago he locked horns with estranged Singapore, with Great Britain too, and cast his eyes further East at the Land of the Rising Yen navigating his beloved Malaysia to peace and prosperity, inspiring young and old to greatness. Game-changer Tweedledum and his other half Tweedledee squandered the legacy they inherited. ‘I want more, sir,’ they chanted, day and night. They ran deep, they ran silent, they raided like the SAS the sea around Bali for Nazi gold. II Cometh the hour, cometh the Doctor, to heal the malaise of the nation, to slay the audacious crocodile, Greed. The Warrior’s winter years became his spring of discontent. Strengthened by the love of his wife and people, with one fell swoop of his sword this Gladiator of Justice slew the double-bellied crocodile, Greed. ...

I Malaysia’s Happy Diamond Days are here again  yes, the Happy Warrior is with us again. In the beginning he locked horns  with estranged Singapore, Great Britain too  and looked East for prosperity and plenty for his beloved Malaysia  inspiring young and old to greatness. Bare-faced Tweedledum and Tweedledee airily squandered the legacy they inherited from the Destiny Maker. ‘I want more, sir,’ they chanted day and night. They ran deep they ran silent  they raided like the SAS they were Phantoms of the Opera.     II Cometh the hour, cometh the Doctor to heal the malaise of the nation perforce to slay the audacious crocodile Greed. Elephants of Memories

Dear hard-to forget, distant old friend, Elephants of memory and the heart Come to you bearing a diamond bouquet of intertwined magical yesteryear. Savour their feet marvel at their lustre and remember the days when we were Emperors of our life, the life spent close to Maria Calas, Darcy Bussell and the Royal Opera House leaving a trail of opium fragance and half smoked cigars on Long Acre. The lovesick elephant Me falls with a thud the trunk can no longer trumpet love or the life spent grazing so close to the Opera House. Silence thanks you for the happy days gone forever. Somehow, I grew old. I see little. I hear less. I say the least. But elephant memories are my endless feast.

Muhammad Ali

I am the greatest I am the Prettiest Muhammad Ali THE CHAMP OF FREEDOM AND EQUALITY By Dy Raiss                                                                                                       dyraiss@hotmail.com Muhammad Ali was not born into greatness, nor was it thrust upon him like it was upon the late Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore, as he claimed. Ali used every sinew in his body and mind to achieve his greatness, freedom and equality for all people. His real opponent were the state, powerful people and organisations. Ordinary people whether white or coloured were part of him, a part of his brotherhood of mankind. Ali the tiger had the grace of a butterfly, the sting of a bee, and the roar of a lion. His eyes ...

Diana The Queen of Hearts

Enchanting Diana, did your enigmatic smile Signify your kaleidoscopic world One may smile and smile And yet grieve in silence? You were so beautiful, So kind and so loving. You inspired so many people. Why did you die so young? We all loved you so. So did Kate from afar. She sleeps with your ring on And embraces George with your ring. Your story died in a dark foreign tunnel. Like a tales of Scherazade Of the Arabian Nights You wake up with the sun each day. The people's ocean of grief in a tsunami Moved the Hanging Garden of Babylon To Kensington Gardens And Buckingham Palace. Your fabled love for Wills and HArry MAde them so strong and so like you that When Wills smile He smiles the way you smiled. Why did you die so young? we shall never know Why did you die so young. Perhaps To reign as the Queen of Hearts. Rest blissfully,Princess of the People.
